Boledu Industrial PLC was in the coffee business for more than ten years. The company started exporting two and currently works with 820 coffee growing farmers in Dimtu Tertiro kebele, Hambela Wamena woreda in Guji zone, Oromia region. Farming at an altitude of 2200 meters above sea level, the farmers grow the Kurema variety of coffee applying organic farm practices. Boledu collects an annual total of 211,200 kilograms of coffee from the farmers which in total have an estimated 2050 hectares (an average of 2.5 hectares per farmer). For the last two years, Boledu Industrial PLC has harvested only specialty coffee and processes the bulk of its coffee into natural dry and the rest into washed coffee. A small amount is also processed into six coffee fermentation types. Boledu exports their coffee mostly to Asian countries (Japan, Korea, and China) and a small amount to the United States and Europe.
