This farm was founded and named the Founder by the Scotsman Mr. Potter who sold it after being caught in the crossfire between the forces of the National Guard and those of Augusto Cesar Sandino in the late 1930s. Mr. Potter returned to Scotland and after his death his family sold it to President Somoza García. Then it was confiscated by the state of Nicaragua in the 80's and became part of the agrarian reform in the 90's.
