Description
For the past three and a half years, I have been passionately dedicated to recovering the family farm that was neglected for a long time. It is a journey that fills me with excitement and pride.
From the beginning of this adventure, I knew I would face challenges, but I was determined to make this place a home for me and my little family. I worked tirelessly to restore the coffee plantations, cleaning every corner and giving each plant the necessary care so that it could flourish once again.
The cabin we now call home is located in the middle of the coffee farm at 1100 meters above sea level, surrounded by lush vegetation and natural beauty. Every morning, I wake up to a breathtaking view, breathing in the fresh air and feeling a deep connection to the land. It is a dream come true to live here.
My main focus is the production of specialty coffee microlots. Each day, I meticulously oversee every stage of the process, from the selection of ripe beans to the careful washing and drying. It is meticulous work, but every detail matters to achieve exceptional flavors and aromas in every cup we produce.
The excitement grows as the microlots reach their peak of flavor and aroma. In 2021 I had the opportunity to participate in the competition with another family farm and we placed National winner with a score of 87.03 points. It is a true delight to cup each cup, savoring the subtle notes and unique nuances that we have achieved through our dedication and passion. Knowing that we are creating something special for coffee lovers is truly gratifying.
My work as a specialty coffee producer goes beyond the production itself. I love connecting with other coffee enthusiasts at industry meetings and events. We share our experiences, learn from each other and inspire each other. It's a world in which I feel completely immersed and happy.
Although it has been a challenging journey, finding satisfaction in seeing the result of my hard work and perseverance is indescribable. The once neglected family farm is now full of life, we restored shade, recovered organic matter from the soil and continue to work to renew plantings. Here, my small family can grow and flourish surrounded by the beauty and tranquility of coffee.
This adventure has taught me the true meaning of living my dream. Through the production of specialty coffee, I am making my mark in the industry and in my community of San Rafael Calería. My story is a testament to how love, determination and passion can turn a dream into reality.
I continue to enjoy every day of this exciting journey as a coffee producer, creating specialty microlots and leaving a lasting mark on the coffee world. It is a privilege to live this life and share my passion with those who love and value the true essence of an exceptional cup of coffee. We have varietals Colombia, Costa Rica 95 mainly. The natural shades is given by vanillo, citrus tress, endemic trees. We maintain organic matter on the farm.
