Description
The “La Palestine” coffee farm represents our appreciation for coffee and it is located in the San José del Alto town center, in Jaén district. The property with 3 extensive hectares majestically rises to 1850 mas. As the owner, José Alarcón Coronel, with my brothers we have dedicated decades of effort to the cultivation of the exclusive geisha variety and our narrative is intertwined with sacrifice and family solidarity.
From our first steps in “La Palestine” we learned high quality coffee cultivation demands tireless dedication. At the beginning of the day, before dawn, we gather in the coffee plantations to ensure the well-being of the plants with fervor and devotion. This family tradition strengthened our union and instilled in us the value of working as a team.
Despite perennial challenges such as changing weather conditions and defient altitude, we have perfected our growing practices over time. Learning from our mistakes and sharing wisdom among brothers. Each harvest not only symbolizes the fruit of our joint effort but also the progression of our skills and the living flame for coffee.
Nowadays “La Palestine” goes beyond being a farm; constitutes our legacy and contribution to the coffee universe. Every cup of geisha coffee we produce is a testament to the cohesion of our family and the sacrifices we have invested. This property reflects that by collaborating in harmony and constantly perfecting our techniques we have the ability to overcome any adversity and cultivate coffee of excellence; this fills us with pride.
The origins of our production in “La Palestine” go back to a field where we were children full of dreams and a deep love for coffee. As the owner, I, with my other brothers, decided to embrace the family tradition from my grandparents and continue with production on this farm in the San José del Alto town center in the district of Jaén.
At first our land was wasted, covered in weeds and challenges that seemed insurmountable, however, we inherited the knowledge and passion for coffee from our parents and grandparents. Every morning before the sunrise we met in the coffee fields to learn and work together.
There were many challenges because of the unpredictable climates and the altitude that required extra effort, but in each obstacle we found an opportunity to grow and improve our growing techniques. Over the years we improve our understanding of geisha coffee and how to properly care for it in these unique conditions.
Today “La Palestine” is a testimony of the perseverance and commitment of a unique family. Each harvest represents the fruit of our joint efforts and the dedication we have invested in this journey. This farm is our legacy and proof that when we work together and honor our roots we can transform even the most challenging terrain into the place where high-quality coffee flourishes.
