Robe Iticha Gurumu is a farmer from Bolela kebele, Limmu woreda, East Welega zone, of Oromia region. She has been working on her coffee farm since 1998 with her husband Kefale Fekadu who helps her part-time since he’s a full-time government employee. Practicing organic farming, Robe collects 5000 kilograms of 74110 varieties of coffee every year from her seven hectares of land. Her coffee which grows at an altitude of 2400 meters above sea level is processed into dry natural coffee.
Robe says, “I have always produced the best quality coffee. I know this because, when I sell it on the local market it’s the first to be purchased and the fastest to go among other coffees. But the problem is, it does not fetch a better price than the other coffees.”
