Located at 1200 meters above sea level in Alishan of Chiayi County, Royal Bean Geisha Estate is a 3-ha coffee farm that solely grows Geisha coffee. Fu-Sen Tseng, the farm owner, has a simple and straightforward goal: the production of coffees with the best flavor profiles in Taiwan.
Utilizing its full-service post-harvest mill, Royal Bean Geisha Estate maintains a high-quality standard for all its lots and seeks to expand its business to the international market. Tseng spends most of his time refining his field management, carefully considering the orientation, altitude, and soil conditions for every coffee plant. In addition, he has partnered up with National Tainan Junior College of Nursing’s Laboratory of Molecular Biology to begin the DNA purification process of his crops, an effort to which he credits his winning the top three places all at once in this year’s Best of Taiwan COE Pilot. He hopes coffee lovers from all over the world would one day come to visit Alishan and Royal Bean Geisha Estate because of his coffees.
