Finca San José was established in the late 1890’s by the Ruffatti family. In 2005, the farm was almost completely destroyed by the Santa Ana volcano ash eruption, and in 2013 it became part of Café Tuxpal Estate farms. Since then, there has been an intensive effort in renovating the coffee plantation and selecting a diverse group of varietals in order to produce a wide range of high-quality coffee profiles.
This farm is divided into 10 microlots with a different varietal each. They contain Pacas, Red Bourbon, Pacamara, Yellow Icatu, Anacafé 14, Villalobos, SL 28 and Geisha tree plantations.
