Cup of Excellence
Coopevictoria is the first Costa Rican cooperative and is the home of more than 3000 producers.
Finca Victoria is located in San Isidro de Grecia, at 1700 m.a.s.l. this region is well known for producing great quality coffees.
This Geisha variety from Victoria has received differentiated agronomical management to this lot, emphasizing on the nutrition that will prevent any pests or deceases.
The coffee was harvested at is optimum stage visually and also using a refractometer to measure the brix degrees, which has to be over 24. Once the coffee is received at the mill the first step is to separate the flouters (in water) And after this the coffee is immediately taken to the drying patios for 24 hours rest in the shadow, moving it every 2 hours during the day. After this first 24 hours, the coffee is move to “parijuelas” or african beds to complete the drying process, again in the shadow and with slight movements during the day. This takes 19 days, approximately.
