Finca Matilde carries the name of the family's grandmother — a deliberate tribute to the roots that continue to inspire everything the Aguilera Zamora family does. Located in Lourdes de Naranjo and participating in Cup of Excellence for the second consecutive year, the farm represents the current chapter of a multi-generational coffee story that began long before the current generation took the reins.
The driving force behind the technical innovation in this project is Dylan Aguilera — Cup of Excellence judge for three consecutive years, cupping champion, and founder of Aguilera Coffee Traders — who works closely with his father Bernabé to experiment with processing methods that maximize the potential of each lot. Their continuous improvements in agronomic practices and post-harvest processing have elevated quality to a new level. Finca Matilde is the result of tradition and innovation working not in tension, but in partnership.
