Description
#3 — Don Darío
Matías Monge Leiva | Mill: Hacienda San Isidro Labrador
Finca Don Darío is one of the most decorated lots to come out of Hacienda San Isidro Labrador — a family project in the hills of Dota, Tarrazú, managed by Johel Monge Naranjo and his son Matías. Now in its sixth year of participation in Cup of Excellence, the hacienda's micromill has established a track record of consistency and quality that few operations in Costa Rica can match. This lot is a multiple-time award winner in the competition, returning to the finals with the same high standard that has defined it across harvests.
Located at 1,950 meters above sea level, the farm benefits from the terroir and climate conditions that have made the Tarrazú region one of the world's most respected coffee origins. The Experimental Fermentation process applied to this Geisha lot reflects the family's willingness to push boundaries while maintaining the rigorous attention to detail that characterizes everything they produce. Transparency, traceability, and a genuine commitment to excellence are the values that connect every cup back to the people behind it.
