Description
#8 — Finca Los Robles
Bernabé Aguilera González | Mill: Mariela Zamora Barrantes
Finca Los Robles makes its first appearance in Cup of Excellence this year — and it arrives with the full weight of a family legacy behind it. The Aguilera Zamora family has been part of Costa Rica's coffee culture for generations, and Bernabé Aguilera has long been a respected figure in the West Valley coffee community. About a year ago, he began working his farms independently alongside his wife Mariela and their children, opening a new chapter that combines generational experience with a renewed drive for innovation.
The technical force behind this evolution is Dylan Aguilera — three-time Cup of Excellence judge, cupping champion, and founder of Aguilera Coffee Traders — who has worked closely with his father to experiment with agronomic practices and processing approaches that extract the maximum potential from each lot. This first-time qualification for Finca Los Robles is not a debut built on luck: it is the result of years of preparation, careful cultivation, and a family that understands coffee at every level of the supply chain.
