Description
For 60 years, the Juárez family has been producing coffee, a tradition that continues with the fourth generation. They remain true to their legacy by producing some of the finest coffees in the region, devoted to protecting their natural resources and biodiversity, and Guatalon is an impressive example of this.
Situated in Belén Village, Santa Rosa de Lima, Santa Rosa; only 21 miles from Guatemala City. The 50-hectare property is divided into 12 hectares for coffee production, and the other 33 hectares are a nature reserve with pine, cypress, and other native tree species.
The name Guatalon derives from guatal, a term used in certain Central American countries to describe land used for cattle grazing after the corn harvest.
True to its name, Guatalon is a fantastic place to do hiking through the coffee forest and to experience a unique bird watching, as well as enjoying the incomparable Guatemalan sunsets framed by volcanoes.
