Description
56 years ago, Don Francisco Huamán Mondragón arrived from the Ayabaca - Piura area and settled in the district of San José de Lourdes where he works in coffee cultivation. In 1976 he met Doña Artemira Villegas Peña with whom he married and settled in the area of the Salinas hamlet and they began their life together, working in the cultivation of coffee in the lower area and raising cattle in the upper area, being one of the first settlers to inhabit that area. With Doña Artemira they have four children.
In 1997, Don Francisco died at an early age, leaving his wife Artemira and his four children, with which Doña Artemira continued with the planting and harvesting.
In the lower area, rust arrives, with which several hectares are lost and new hectares are directed to the upper area, and thus Doña Artemira continues to support her home.
In 2015, his eldest son Ebert came to the city of Lima to continue his university studies, which he did not finish, and he began his journey in the world of barista and cupping, generating more knowledge of coffee and decided to take charge of the farm and of the production.
In that same year, thanks to the opportunity that life gives you, in a meeting of friends dedicated to the world of coffee, the name "Finca Artemira" was born in recognition of his mother who had been working for so many years.
In 2015, it began with 2 hectares producing coffee of the pache and bourbon varieties, with which Finca Artemira was introduced into the national market. In 2016, the planting of the geisha, bourbon, rosé and caturra varieties began, always taking into account the preservation of virgin mountain areas, with the first harvest in 2019.
