Claudia del Carmen Murcia Pinto is the owner of Finca El Buen Sembrador, located at 1450 meters in the village of Las Peñitas, in the Municipality of Santa Bárbara, Department of Santa Bárbara. She’s been dedicated to coffee growing since 2013, along with her brothers.

Her farm, generates employment for 5 people who collaborate permanently and between 25 to 30 temporary workers at harvest time.

Claudia takes care of the environment of her farm and strives to regulate the shade of her coffee plantation. She prefers to use “Madreado” tree, because of the medicinal and environmental properties it possesses, which is very beneficial for the coffee growing.

Claudia considers that the combination of some factors such as the excellent terroir of her farm, the use of natural fertilizers and other types of formulas, the good care of the water sources and the extra detail on the fermentation processes, allows her to achieve a very good quality in her coffee.

Is the very first time she participates at Cup of Excellence and maintain her hopes to do a good job. She decided to use the anaerobic and natural process with a fermentation of more than 24 hours and a slow drying process. She decided to participate because it is a goal for every producer and to win would represent a great emotion and a great achievement.
