Description

Histroy Mr. Pinto began to plant coffee in 1995 thanks to a loan he received from a local financing institution. At that moment he started planting 2 hectares of coffee currently is has 5 and is a well recognized coffee producer in his village. Mr. Pinto got the inspiration of planting coffee from his friend Adalberto Portillo who support him with knowledge during his first years specially. Quality Practices The coffee is processed under traditional methods using his own miller. There are classification canals in which first, second and third quality coffee are separated. The coffee is then dry over mesh grill infrastructure as well as in cement platform located in the farm.

Environmental Care

To protect the environment Fresvindo has built a pond to treat the waste water from the coffee processing activities. The pulp is treated with californian earthworm to produce organic fertilizer which later he uses to fertilize coffee and other crops he has in his farm. Fertilization Fertilization is done with bio-fertilizer coming from treating the Coffee pulp with the Californian earthworm ( Eisenia foetida). Also twice a year supplements of Nitrogen, Phosphorus and potassium are applied Disease and Pest Control For pest control cultural practices and biological components are used. No chemical pesticides are applied. Prunes for sanitary purposes are done to the shade threes and to the coffee plants Harvesting Handpicking of ripe grains of Coffee begins in January and finish in April. This task is performed by skillful men and woman. Pulping and Fermentation Mr. Pinto has a small infrastructure for wet milling. there is a fermentation tank, an a pulping machine.
