Overview

Alejandro Florez was born in December 26th of 1946, in the state of Caldas, he is 62 years old. His inheritance of coffee was his motivation to keep working with the coffee land since he got into the Municipality of Mesetas in the year 2002. Through the acquisition of the farm “El Porvenir”, where together with his family is still doing the coffee labor; looking always for the improvement of the quality coffee in the process, because he is conciseness about the importance of the coffee for the future of his family. His wife Esneda Botero Velez, he has two sons: Yudi Andrea Florez; she is 22 years old and Luis Fernando Florez; he is 34 years old. His projects: - To organize his farm better until is a model farm that can work as a training farm, for educate tours for the coffee farmers of the region. - To have a store for materials, supplies and equipment for the coffee production in his municipality His dream: To travel to the sea with his family. He is recognizing as an intrepid coffee farmer and also a leader in his community. Always ready to get and implement the recommendations and programs from the National Federation of Coffee Growers; for the farmer in the region. He is a member of the Cooperative of Coffee Growers of Meta. Care of the Environment - Coffee Seed thorough the hills- Conservation of water births and rivers with reforestation of bamboo and bore- Planning yuca, plantain and other plants for the wild animals like “Neque, Gurre and birds”, also hunting is not permit- The traditional coffee process is without water, they have the places to make compost and they use warms, as the prevention for the pollution with the solids that come from the coffee process.
