Overview

Finca Buena Vista is located in the Cordillera Apaneca-Ilamatepec in El Cerro Cachia. The total length of this farm is 30 hectares, of which 25 are cultivated with coffee and the remaining 5 are a native forest in which there are volcanic geysers and water spring. The water of these springs is used for farm works and to supply nearby communities. The average height of the property ranges from 1250 to 1450 meters above sea level. The farm has sandy loam soil type, volcanic soil and proper for the cultivation of coffee. The amount of annual rainfall received by the farm is 1800 to 2000 mm. The plantation consists of 100% Arabica Bourbón with some few remaining Typica trees. The average age is 15 years, with a population of 5,000 coffee trees per hectare. The variety of shade trees, native trees and is Ingas, with a population of 110 shade trees per hectare. Annual production is an average 750 bags of 69 kg each for export. Work practices implemented on the farm were always respecting the environment, sustainability and social and natural habitat. These practices include the biological control of pests and diseases, while minimizing chemical use. This is the use of organic fertilizers supplemented with a low proportion of chemical fertilizers. Also apply foliar organic fertilizer to the foliage of trees. Our goal is to find a balance in the management of the plantation, including a technical level and a sustainable level. The result is a healthy coffee plantation, with an excellent cup and good production. The set of all this effort, as well as of the day laborers who work on the farm and operators of profit, resulting in this excellent coffee.
