Description
Overview
Our farm was inherited from my husbands father, Tomas Marin, since 1983 and before Mr. Marin bought it, it was in bad shape. We started the coffee production about ten years ago. Different generations have worked with us, my husband, my son (31 years old) who lives with us, works full time in the farm dedicates to the coffee production, and my two daughters (37 and 29) who live in Ocotal, work with us during the harvest season. We work hard to maintain our farm very clean, using organic fertilizers and one ounce of chemical fertilizer. Our coffee plantation area also has other trees and plants that such as black guaba, bucaro, orange trees, tangerine trees, plantains and white guineos (plantains) I feel so happy and blessed for being a winner. I thank Mr. Luis Alberto Balladares, who helped us with financing, advices and during the production process. With the help of Cup of Excellence I expect my coffee to receive recognition for its quality and prestige, as well as my farm to be known locally and internationally, so I my coffee can be sold with better prices and improve my farm, production practices and commercial relations.
