Jose Laureano was born in August 19th of 1941, in Narino department, in El Tambo municipality, he is 69 years old, hi is a traditional farmer and keeps the enthusiasm about coffee since he got a heritage from his parents, since that he is being working in coffee, when he got the property over the land “El Trigal” farm, his activities are more active with his family who are the motor to run all the labors of the crop. He is doing practices for conservation due to the environmental conscience that have this village together with the neighbors, they are working in actions to minimize the negative impacts on the land, they are also starting strategic plantations at the village to decrease water erosion, they have the guide from the specialty coffee programs to use all of the residues of coffee process to benefit inside the farm for example compost and fertilizers. The farm just started the Rainforest Alliance certification.
