Overview:

Parmenio Pulido is a coffee grower from Algeciras – Huila, married to Mrs. Olga Galeano with whom they bought the farm “La Floresta” in the village Normandia from Bruselas – Pitalito, they have their son for whom they work and give him education and the necessary thing to be a good person. He is being for more than 25 years in the coffee activity, initially they got 4 hectares of shrubs, adapting these lands with peas and beans, and then they seeded 3,000 coffee trees of Caturra variety until seeding in the totality of the area of coffee in the property. After sometime and with the effort of several years they bought the next pieces of land beside her property 2 more hectares. That at present they are established in coffee; today he is in the renovation process for 1.5 hectares of Colombia Varietal instead of Caturra, looking to improve the index of production of the farm and resistance to the fungus disease “Roya”. The farm has a great environmental supply, with a spring and a path aqueduct. At the moment the property is Rainforest Alliance certified, with the environmental management that the norm demands. The Native Forest is conserved, it does not allow to the cutting of trees in zones of water reserves and springs; in addition the soil is protected with the handling of covers shrubs and bushes plants. In the harvest time, they recollect mature beans all handpicked with the workers that come from the same region enabled for this work; when the beans are picked, they are collected in the facilities for the wet milling process, where the harvesting is inspected soon and weight, later the coffee is throw down to the hopper to be pill out in the pulp-machine, soon the coffee pass to the tank for fermentation where it lasts 12 hours, then the coffee needs to be dry and this process is done by dryer solar, process that lasts approximately 36 hours of effective sun. Soon the coffee is selected and the defected beans are taken out regulating quality, leaving it ready for the commercialization of good quality coffee.
