Married with Luz Mery Lopez, who has been a very great woman to straight goals and objectives in my life. I was born the 11th of December of 1973 in Villafatima path of the municipality of Pitalito – Huila. from my first years my life turn around the coffee, because my grandparents and parents had a coffee property, when I was a child I studied and at free moments I helped doing some works at the farm as in the benefit, harvesting and classification of the beans, I knew that the economy of my family depended mainly on this business from what I could get the studies I have done. In 1998 finished my studies, and I kept working with farmers and in the year 2000 I decided to start having my own plantation, in 2003 I began to collaborate to the Cooperative of Coffee Growers of Huila in the municipality of Brussels, where my interest was born to get deeper in the knowledge of cupping. My dreams are be able someday to sell my product to demanding clients, to be able to produce what they are asking for and with the knowledge I have to satisfy their requirement and also to help producers in the same way to put the interest and mystic that this product must have. That is very please to me that through the coffee business many people win because there is a good redistribution of the profit of this, because many workers are needed form different parts of a community. From my farm is considerable the amount of waters it has, because there are 3 springs and also a small river with a caudal and volume surrounds, sources I am reforesting for their own protection, I have watched the presence of many types of birds between them “guacharacas and torcazas” that long ago weren’t there, and maybe they have lose the fear to the humans because nobody is doing anything to them. At the moment I am an active member of the Cooperative of Coffee Growers CADEFIHUILA and I want to continue there because of a lot of benefits they offer to get fertilizers at good low costs and because the prices of the coffee are good, valuing the quality that each one can obtain furthermore have helped us for the certification of the farm with UTZ. My coffee is dried in a patio of cement and full exposition to the sun. I consider coffee as the fruit of life and of opportunities of progress and growing, thought the coffee my parents gave me education and in addition it is the motor of development in my region.
