Description

Overview:

I was born on “Tablon de Gomez” located in the department of Narino on June 16th of 1971. I have been a coffee farmer 29 years ago, motivated by my parents who found in this product a way to sustain my brothers and me. I am the fifth of six brothers, to whom I have supported unconditionally. I am married with Mrs. Sonia Gomez Diaz and father of a beautiful girl called Rosa Urbano Gomez. I studied until fifth grade of elementary school but because of my leadership with the coffee farmers of the municipality I was elected to be a member of the Municipal Coffee Farmers Committee during the period 2006-2010.I bought my first farm 18 years ago which I denominated “The Relief” because previously I worked for a farm owner with my parent’s help and that’s why I am very grateful with them, because they taught me the importance of honest work and the value of the coffee growing. My dream is to see my daughter as a professional but always instilling her, the love for the countryside and that she never forgets that it was the ground the one who gave us the support to reach our dreams. I am a coffee farmer interested and compromised with innovation and with the use of good agricultural practices for the improvement of coffee crop; fact that led me occupy an important place in the contest of the Specialty Coffee International Fair.
