I was born on June 22nd of 1957 in the village “La Estrella” of the municipality of Planadas located in the department of Tolima, son of German Guilombo and Emiliana Romero. When I was 21 years old I inherited a land of 18 hectares in the village “Bellavista”, which I started to work with my wife Gloria Gonzalez, with whom I began to build a beautiful coffee home and now we have 7 children, 3 sons and 4 daughters. I started my life as a coffee farmer planting Typica coffee and then Caturra and with it I could bring up my family. Nowadays I am starting the renovation with varieties resistant to coffee rust. The farm has 3.93 hectares of coffee, 80% is Caturra variety and 20% is Colombia and Castillo variety. Thanks to the love and dedication that we work the coffee crop, on 2010 I participated on the Cup of Excellence, occupying the ninth place. This year I decided to participate again, sending a batch of different coffee varieties, occupying the 16th place. I have always teach to my children the love for coffee, that’s why each one has its own lot and contributed to participate in the Cup of Excellence contest. My dream is continue renovating the coffee trees with resistant varieties, improving the dwelling, the coffee process and give study to the last one of the heirs, who is 5 year old.
