Libardo Piedrahita married to Luz Mirian Munoz Hernandez and they have 6 children: Luis Ermilson, Eli Johana, Yeiny Yurany, Alexander, Uberney and Jeison Fernado and now their Luisa granddaughter. Son of a traditional coffee family, and today the his whole family including his granddaughter handles the responsibility of the familiar company called “La Esmeralda”, he is 48 years old and from very young he was dedicated to the social work, holding positions like president of boards of directors of communal action of the path, treasurer of the school of the path and of the associative group Cafe Andino when he was part of this. At the moment he is a member of the municipal coffee committee, and he is an actual member of the Association of Producers Guachicos, he studies until third fifth grade of primary school and been in some trainings in educational institutions and also made a course for cupping. He is being in love and in commitment with quality and probe of that is his participation in other CoE competitions, like in 2007, getting to the auction as well in the 14th position. The farm “La Esmeralda” is located in spurs of the hill Dona Juana, a mountain previous to the majestic “Macizo Colombia no”; form this hill the waters are born crystalline those he uses at his farm for domestically use and also for the wet milling process; and also from this hill there are two important springs “Cerro” and “Azul”. They use at the far a desmucilaginator which is making a big safe of water and also preventing pollution to the rivers with the solids and liquids coming from the coffee process. The drying is done in a cement patio to full exposition to the sun.
