Overview:

The farm "La Begona" began coffee cultivation with the current name in 1990.Since that time my father was harvesting and cultivating coffee until his death in 2010. Leveraging knowledge of coffee cultivation and the land that I inherited, I started growing my own farm.

My father had cultivated plots and working alongside them was how I acquired some experience.Finca "La Begona" currently consists of 17 acres of land of which 6 are cultivated coffee and 11 natural forest.

It is located in the northwest corner of the department of Chalatenango, about 10 kilometers before arriving at La Palma. It is located in the foothills of the mountains that form the chain of Alotepec and Metapan, about 1500 meters above sea level. Working in partnership with my uncle Antonio Rene Aguilar, owner of La Montanita farm, we improved the structure of our small profit craft where we process the coffee, that profit which was built by my uncle and my father Adelmo Aguilar. We must focus the fact that our little operation contributes to the local economy to provide jobs during the cutting season for a group of about 40 workers.

It is the first time that the coffee produced in "La Begona" participates in the event "Cup of Excellence" achieved rank among the top 25 of El Salvador coffee, standing with variety Pacas and this oportunity, having participated with a mix of Pacas and Bourbón.
