History of the farm
Fazenda Tijuco is located in Chapada Diamantina, in the city of Piata , BA. At an elevation of 1268m (4160 ft), it is the highest city in the North and Northeast of Brazil. It is also considered a very cold city, with temperatures that vary from 2°C to 17°C (36°F to 63°F) during the winter.
Motivated by her father-in-law, Anto nio Rigno de Oliveira, she acquired the property 10 years ago and started producing specialty coffee.
Coming from a coffee-producing family and with the help of her father-in-law, she soon began to enjoy the coffee producing culture and started investing in quality, taking advantage of the privileged location in the city of Piata .
Doing the harvest by hand, taking advantage of local manpower, the majority women, the farm harvests the coffee cherries, which are transported by tractors to the pulper.
The entire drying process is done with the guidance of technicians and then the coffee is stored in such a way as to maintain the quality obtained.
