Description
The wet is located at 90km from the capital city of Bujumbura. Coffee trees are cultivated in very fertile soils (volcanic) and the rain fall can reach around 1300mm per year. It has been built in 1989. The processing machinery is Mac Kinnon. It has around 170 drying tables and can process around 750MT per year. All coffee farmers are smallholders with 470 coffee trees per farm. It has 2130 coffee farmers with a potential coffee trees of 1 008 134. Its mission is: supporting coffee farmers in seedling installation, training coffee farmers in best agricultural practices, increase productivity and connect farmers to the sustainable Agriculture Network (SAN). Coffee cherry collection, pulping, fermentation, removing sugar, drying, and storage are done with a monitoring system to ensure traceability and separation in sustainable manner throughout all the chain.
