Description

History of the estate: It was initially acquired by our grandfather on the father’s side, Harry Adams Butter who came to the Country from Scotland at the end of the 1800’s. At the beginning of the 1900’s he decided to move his dwelling to Berlin and saw the opportunity and decided to buy the property which is currently managed by the 3er. generation. The name of the farm stands after my grandfather’s homeland.  The 16 acres of inheritance have been increased to 180 acres. No all of the additional acreage has been exclusively planted of coffee; the varieties planted are mainly Bourbón and Kenya and lately Pacas and Cuzcatleco have been planted, the rest of the property was left as it was : a nice forest in order to protect the local flora and fauna as well as the two fountainheads. Native species of trees in process of extinction are being planted every year.

On the winning plot : The coffee submitted for the Cup of  Excellence was 100% Kenya variety, which renders a beautiful cup, this portion of the farm was chosen as only that lot is planted with this variety. The workers that took part in gathering the crop are people that have worked on the farm for a long time and their gentleness and experience with the coffee is well known to us. It was harvested at the very peak time of maturity and also was thoroughly selected.

For the future crops : we will continue handling the farm as we have been doing this 2013, with the same care to produce the best quality coffee as we did this year and of course improving in every step of the way.
