Description

Formerly the property belonged to the Usumacinta Santo Domingo farm, whence came off as an inheritance to the descendants of that family, being operated as a property for the production of beef cattle. And with good area of forest that still remains today as a private nature reserve.

In 1980 BENJAMIN HEBERTO VILLATORO C. (mincho) a truck driver, worker and entrepreneur, said in his own words “with coffee in his veins instead of blood”, falls in love with the land and sees her potential for coffee production, so with much effort and work with his wife ZOILA A. GOMEZ L. acquires the property, and initiate a gigantic task to convert this land of pastures in coffee producing lands. Initiated having at the same time beef cattle, however since the beginning the idea was clear "will be a coffee farm."

After great efforts and savings achieved bring this property to produce a good quality coffee, clean and with a very interesting flavor that distinguishes it from others. Since this is also a reason why in the 90’s a long-term relationship began, in which a portion of the farm coffee was sold each year to Illy Coffee in Europe.

In 2009 it reached the top of the coffee production in terms of quality and recognition to the hard work of Mr. Mincho, as he is called for those who knew him, reaches 2nd place in the competition of coffee auction ANACAFE, being recognized by quality.

But every story has changes, in September 2012, don Mincho dies, leaving to us, his family, a legacy of work and example which we hope to honor in all times. So now we have been working the farms, participating in order to find as he said "tell us our mistakes so we can improve."
