Description
Tinoco is an example of perseverance and consistency. We had a small
interview with him and that´s what he said:
I'm part of the 3rd generation of coffee farmers in my family. I have been working in coffee since he was a child, when I came out of school I always used to go to work with my dad, then when I was 17 years old my father gave me a small parcel but it was a low quality coffee. I used to listen the radio and through it I knew about COE and my interest about it was increasing year by year, until my father put his farm on sale, and my wife Nora and I decided to buy it, but we had not money, so he gave it to me as a loan. By that moment my dreams started to become true.
Pino de Oro was a better farm to produce what I wanted. As fast as I could I contacted with IHCAFE and in 2009 was my first year in COE, fortunately I was disqualified. I mean fortunately because It was just an
opportunity to learn how to work. And in 2010 I tried again and I won the 3rd place, in 2011 “My lucky year, I was the Winner"... After my kids that was the best thing that ever happened to me…in 2013 I got the 9th place.
This is my 5th year in COE, and I´m definetly better than 8 years ago, now I have my own wet and dry mill (a depulper machine, 2 ceramic tiles, a patio and 3 solar driers), a better house, a car, no debts, around 5
families working with me, I invested in building the road to my farm (it is a big achieve), I can´t ask for more……
I´m very proud of my family, my 3 sons and my wife Nora, who works day by day next me.
I´ll never stop learning and improving in high quality every day.
