Description
The finca was founded in 1880, but was purchased 10 years ago.We had to renovate 100 hectares. Our goal has been from the very beginning produce with quality without having in consideration the cost; we know that is an investment and we are going to receive profits one day. We obtain financial stability by selling byproducts and associated products to the local markets such as oranges, bananas, honey, vegetables and in the future more polycultures, we protect and promote edible forests with the main tree that is the coffee. The system is very sustainable because it takes only a very small carbon portion from the nutrients cycle, by reintegrating the pulp and parchment we are feeding the agroforestry system for having foods and products for the local consumption. Cup of Excellence means a lot not only for me, but for the coffee in Mexico . Means better coffee, more protected forests that brings environment and social benefits. The coffee plantations are The Garden of Eden, it there is no good price for the coffee, the eden is lost. CoE raises the consciousness of what is involved in the coffee quality nationally and internationally.
