Farm:               La Esperanza
Farmer:            Heleodoro de Jesús Villatoro López

“La Esperanza Farm” was founded in 1, 956 by Mr. Heleodoro de Jesús Villatoro López, beginning in “El Bojonal” town, La Libertad, Huehuetenango, then he moved to “Hoja Blanca” town, since then, the farm is characterized by producing high quality coffee. Mr. Villatoro has spread in our hearts the desire to continue producing excellent coffees, resources to be taken advantage as second and third generation.

Mr. Heleodoro Villatoro, before founded his farm; he had to work for many years buying coffee and carry it in animals, walking a long way (60km approximately) for several days to sell the product. In 1, 956 he founded “La Esperanza” farm, on that time Mr. Villatoro faced many obstacles to deal the coffee because they had no nearby access roads to the Huehuetenango department. However, the love to coffee and his desire to improve was bigger, so years later the farm was able to moved their coffee on the first trucks directly to the dry mill in Palín, Guatemala .

Mr. Villatoro because of his honesty, dedication and his work, at his 91 years old still represents an example for his children, grandchildren and his entire family; he has left a legacy of a high quality coffee to his family, that why they are having an active participation in competences.
