Description
History of the farm
The history of coffee growing at Fazenda fazenda Riacho da Tapera began with the winner’s grandfather, Mr. José Rodrigues Jones, who started producing coffee and invested in the infrastructure to produce high-quality coffee, being one of the pioneers in producing pulped natural coffee in Piatã, BA.
In order to tell the story of the award-winning producer, it is necessary to give a brief description of the land. The farm is divided into three tracts of land, belonging to Mr. Jose Rodrigues Jones, his daughter Leda, and to his son Euvaldo Xavier Jones, the father of producer Euvaldo José Costa Jones. After finishing his education in physical education, Euvaldo moved to Piatã together with his wife, Camila, and his son, to manage the part of the farm belonging to his father.
After 13 years, through renovations, installation of irrigation, afforestation, maintenance and production method, always seeking quality, nowadays this partnership and investment yield excellent results. The plot of renewed land produced one of the winners of the Cup of Excellence in the Pulped Natural category.
Concern about quality
The producer believes in coffee production. He lives on the property. He is not concerned only with the quality of the coffee, as he lives on the property and must see it as a whole. He does not use herbicides or pesticides. The harvest is done by hand. And a series of factors contribute to both the quality of the coffee and of life.
