Description

Our beautiful farm is located in Lourdes de Cirrí, Naranjo, Costa Rica (area known for the quality of its coffee) at an altitude of 1700mts above sea level; the volcanic characteristics of the soil and its altitude are ideal for a high quality coffee.

Even if it is a small farm, it has a great potencial and a huge blessing that was given to us by thousands of workers: The Bees. These insects made possible that four years ago, in a section of our farm that had red Catuaí and yellow Catuaí, by the power of pollination, it began to grow a mix of the two plants, a natural mutation. Orange Catuaí was a surprise and a present from the farm to us. This event brought us the idea of Aurantiaco, latin for orange. It is amazing how during the flowering time, the bees pollinate the plants, and it's the red catuaí that becomes orange, not the yellow one.

In 2012 we produced only 3 fanegas, but with our hardwork and love, today in 2016, we produced 13 fanegas, 1st quality, hand picked orange Catuaí.

This beautiful orange coffee is delicious, when you taste it, you will feel this rich “tangerine” taste in your mouth. That is why we named this lot MANDARINA (that means “tangerine”). Our entuthiastic workers always give the best of them, and I believe that is a hint of our close and familiar relationship with them. For this specific coffee, an Arabica CATUAI, we used the RED HONEY process and it is a 100% sun dried in our african beds.

Our only hope is to share with you this exquisite blessing and that you love it as we do.
