Description

History of the farm

In the 19th century, patriarch João Ferreira Carneiro was already producing sweet beans in the fertile soil of Santo Antônio do Amparo, where Fazenda Guariroba is located. His fascination and desire to increasingly improve the coffee grown there were passed on to five generations of descendants, raised in this culture passionate about the flavors and aromas of coffee. It was this passion that led Homero Aguiar Paiva, a Civil Engineer by training and representative of the 5th generation of the family, to acquire part of the centennial Fazenda Cachoeira from his uncle and continue growing coffee. Homero, with the guidance of his brother, agronomist Renato Paiva, selected the best varieties of coffee to plant his fields and named his property Fazenda Guariroba, in homage to the lands of his maternal grandparents.Since then, the constant search for excellence and the preservation of the purest traditions have been the orders on the farm. The privileged terroir and his family’s vast knowledge have enabled Homero Paiva to achieve excellence in producing specialty coffees, with unique characteristics that could only be obtained through the most up-to-date planting and harvesting methods, together with sustainability and social responsibility. Today, under the management of Gabriel Lamounier Vieira and Elisa Paiva Lamounier, Fazenda Guariroba represents Brazilian coffee domestically and internationally through the recognition obtained with awards and certifications as one of the best natural coffees produced in Brazil. Tradition allied with technology, enabling excellence in quality. This is Fazenda Guariroba.

Coffee processing system

The coffee was picked by hand, washed and pulped. Then it was dried on a conventional patio. After drying, it rested for a period of 30 days, after which it was processed.

Concern about quality

An adequate number of shade trees per hectare are maintained in the coffee fields.

Animals are not used for coffee processing.

Animals are kept in captivity on the farm.

Clean water and contaminated water are kept separate.
