Description

In previous years the coffee processing were done traditionally and this did not allow a better yield in quantity and quality. The establishment of the washing station in 2009 now allows better monitoring of pulping technology for drying. The Kigeyo coffee is currently present in all appointments of the quality competition (EAFCA, Cup of Excellence...) Kigeyo washing station located in western province; it is constructed on high level of volcanic region and offers a production of high quality of coffee. Its good location facilitates dispatchment of cherries on time for being processed according to the international standards of coffee transformation. The tropical whether which reign there helps cultivation of Arabica coffee with very good quality. Cultivated on high level, coffee of Kigeyo contains acid and it is rich in flavor. The coffee producers came together in cooperative “KODUKAKI” where they receive bonus as welfare market like cows, goats, bicycles, motorbikes…
