Description

The Farm

Los Lirios is the sister farm of San Isidro Chacaya, purchased by the Cabrera family on 1919 (10 years later than San Isidro Chacaya) it is part of the same family business, and has been producing coffees for over 100 years.

Location

The farm is located in the western highlands of Guatemala, department of Sololá, right in the middle of the famous Traditional Atitlán® region. Los Lirios stands in front of Volcan San Pedro. The farm has an area of 90 has, of which, 10 are planted with coffee and the rest is an outstanding natural reserve. Los Lirios altitude goes between 1.700 to 2.100 m.a.s.l. in the mountain. Due to its topography, there are breathtaking views of the lake, the farm, the reserve and the three volcanoes that surround the plantation (Atitlán, San Pedro and Tolimán).

Our Coffee

The farm’s production ranges around 100 – 200 bags of 60 kg. The quality is our most valuable asset, positively influenced by the altitude, volcanic soils, different microclimates that can be found on the farm and the good agricultural practices. The high altitude, volcanoes and mountains surrounding the farm are important factors that determine the microclimates. Our coffee is traditionally processed in the farm: handpicked, de-pulped, naturally fermented, washed and shade dried.

We plant different varietals, but in this area we have planted Typica, Caturra and Pacamara.

All the coffee produced in the farm is exported in micro-lots to specialty coffee roasters in Australia, Canada, China, England, Ireland, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and United States.
