The coffee farm “LOS PINOS” is located in Lempira, San Andres, with an altitude of 1600 masl. The farm owner, Remiery Carvajal, explains that coffee business has been a family tradition since long time ago. With his wife and family, they have been working the coffee farm the last 3 years. They grow Typica, Caturra, Lempira, IHCAFE-90, Colombiano, Bourbon and the process he works with is only melado (honey). They had the opportunity to meet people who helped them discover many qualities in their coffee, in order to position in the North American and Asian markets. Their objective changed to produce quality coffee and not quantity, and with the help of God, hard work and discipline, ggave them as a result, to be one 2nd place winners of 2018 Cup of Excellence, with their TYPICA variety. 

The techniques he uses are collection of the cherries at prime time, to make a good process for the Melado. He explains that it is important to record notes and continue monitoring the coffee, in order to know the optimum process. Their main goal is making long lasting coffee relationships with buyers that appreciate their coffee quality and to make it to #1 place in Cup of Excellence.
