Description

In the 1950s, Osvaldina Alves Dutra and José Dutra Sobrinho inherited a small piece of land on a Brazilian mountain in the region of Matas de Minas, at 1200 meters above sea level, which permits a wide selection of aromatic profiles in the different lots into which the farm is divided.
Producer Osvaldina Dutra has worked with coffee her entire life. She knows the importance of coffee quality and the fundamental role that agriculture and processing play in the entire process. For many years she has sought ways to improve the quality of her coffee and in the process has adopted better production processes on the farm. Her two sons, Ednilson and Walter, are also entirely involved in the family’s business, both in administration and in the field.

Today the coffee fields are totally sustainable. The advantage of having highly nutritious soil and exceptional climate is that these give the coffees a combination of qualities that are reflecting in the cup, a pleasant, clean cup, sweet, chocolaty and fruity.
The coffee selected for this competition was part of a small lots cultivated with all due care. The coffee was harvested late, selectively, and dried on African beds. The entire drying process took around 15 days.
Quality is the main goal in production. The entire process is traceable, from planting to warehousing the coffees. The farm is certified by Rainforest Alliance.
