Don Jose - Costa Rica 2020 Verified listing

Farm Don José, is located in the Tarrazu region, in San Francisco, San Pablo of Leon Cortes. Starting at 1950 m.a.s.l all the way up to 2100, it is great for the Geisha variety. We also have a lot of Villa Sarchi. All its coffee is processed at Brumas del Zurqui mill.

It has been part of our family since 2012 and is the first time to be a finalist in Cup of Excellence.

Brumas del Zurqui was the COE winner in 2012 with our farm Zamora.

"Hi friends, my name is Juan Ramon Alvarado from Brumas del Zurqui, in Central Valley region of Costa Rica. You can see at my back the mountains of the Barulio Carillo National Park were the “Tunel Zurqui” is located and hence the name of our micro mill. At this time of year, we are not yet in harvest, but here is where we worked all of our coffees for our clients, all which are naturals and honey. You can see from here the Irazú Volcano and those other mountains are the Tarrazu region where the Farm Don José is located, we have its coffee in Cup of Excellence, is a Geisha variety. 

For those who have not visit us back there is our roasting facilities and here our lab, is a small lab for cupping our coffees and learn more about how they develop. You can see from here the African beds and our micro mill. 

Thank you all for your support on Cup of Excellence for this 2020, it has been a complicated year, as we all know. We hope you enjoy our coffees from our farms Don Jose and Doña Clemencia, both of these are named after my parents, I´m the 4th generation in coffee. And something that has been passed from generation to generation is this “pilon” that has been art of the family for 225 years.
