Description

Campánula  is located in Palo de Campana, Santa Ana on the Santa Ana- Ilamatepec  Volcano.   Established as a coffee plantation around 1930.

Campánula is totally surrounded by 3 National Parks ¨Los Volcanes¨, “Los Andes”. “Cerro Verde” with and extended variety of flora and fauna as deers, tepescuintles, cusucos, comadrejas, raccoons, porcupines, and many other wild animals. As its neighbor farm Santa Elena, the fertile lands of this region located in the Apaneca Ilamatepec mountain Range, received volcanic ashes in the eruption of Ilamapepec volcano in 2006, which makes the soil even more rich and fertile, and since then Organic Certified. The ashes acted as a rich natural fertilizer. The coffee production process is traditional, coffee is grown under shade trees, mostly ingas, cypress, corozo trees, in total about 75 different species of shade trees.  Soil type is from volcanic origins, very well drained and with high organic matter contents.

The Geisha lot is the first crop harvested from a recently planted “parcela”, 4 years old. The lot was prepared under an anaerobic process (without any air). Located in the upper lands of the volcano at 1850 meter over sea level, the average temperature of 14 C° and stunning views, gave this land a unique magic feeling of encounter with nature.
