Adem Baneta Sulte is a 60-years-old coffee farmer and a father of 28 children (12 girls) in West Arsi, Nensebo woreda, Refisa kebele, Oromia. He was very happy when he heard about his results in the Cup of Excellence competition, where his coffee scored 87.64 for 22nd place. “I grew up on a coffee farm and have been farming all my life, and now I feel like I might get my reward,” said Adem.

He produces 4,500 kilograms of coffee on his 6 hectares of land, which he sells to local traders. “I was never involved in the export market because I didn’t have the opportunity, and this competition might introduce me to the global market. That’s a great hope for me and my family,” he said.
