Nueva Alianza - Perú 2020

The farm name is NUEVA ALIANZA, the name originate from the partnership we formed together with my father in the labor and management of the farm. It has been 20 years already since we work together and dedicate ourselves to the agriculture activities.

The farm is located at the populated center of HUAQUIÑA in the province / district of SANTA TERESA in the region of CUSCO. With an altitude of 1880msl is suitable to produce coffee. My adventure in the Word of specialty coffees began in 2009, planting the varieties CATURRA, COSTA RICA, TYPICA and GESHA.

Since the year 2012 we initiate to participate in different local contests for specialty coffee. At the farm we try to implement the different knowledge we acquire through different companies and cooperatives about fertilizing, harvest and post harvest process, for this we do every year many experiments to increase the quality of our coffees. We did try the different varieties of coffee we grow in different process as natural, honey and washed and it excelled the GESHA coffee because we found better attributes what lead us to compete and become the WINNERS OF CUP OF EXCELLENCE in the year 2018 in the first place.

The coffee we compete with is GESHA, the process is washed, we only harvested during full moon only the most red cherries at its ripest point, which we select in the solar platforms, in our process plant, after selecting them we thresh the coffee without wáter, to then fermentingit in cooler containers for about 30 hours after this we washed the coffee with clean wáter. Drying them under shadow platforms for about 20 to 25 days. All the work we put into this coffee is done together with my father and wife.

“When I won the Cup of Excellence in 2018 it changed my life completely. From that moment I meet various buyers from Peru and abroad. Nowadays the production of specialty coffees increased for rus strongly to satisfy our buyers.

We will continue participating in the competition COE because we feel a huge comitment to our customers of keep on improving our quality and to show everyone the hard work it takes. no matter the final resoult or the points we get during the competition we feel extremly happy because we know we have done a Good job.
