Description
Mr. Nilson Silva Díaz, with 51 years old, is a farmer who follows the customs and traditions of his parents dedicated to coffee production for many generations, since coffee is the main economic means for all the families in this small place. He lives with his wife and his 2 younger children. His plot was inherited from his father which he called El Cedro and it is located in the Jusiva sector of the Lonya Grande district, province of Utcubamba, Amazonas Region on the right edge of the Marañón River, with good microclimates and ideal soils to produce high quality coffees at an altitude of 1600 mas. As a founding partner of the Coffee Agrarian Cooperative PROCECAM Ltda., he acquired geisha seeds and managed to plant about 2 hectares of geisha coffee in April 2016, taking care of all his crops during all these years. Mr. Nelson Silva Díaz has been participating consecutively in this important competition Cup of Excellence since 2018, demonstrating his continuous improvement in his coffee quality.
