Description

The history of da Fazenda Pedra Preta begins at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th, when the owners planted the first coffee fields in the region, of the Yellow Bourbon variety. Since then, high-quality coffees have been produced at the farm at elevations from 1150 to 1350 meters, with a mild climate and constant preservation of springs and native forests.
The property is located at 22º01’07”S, 45º12’59”W.
In 2016 the property was acquired by producer Antonio Fortes Bustamante, who continued activities on the farm, together with his daughter, always seeking better quality, productivity and sustainability.
The old owners processed the coffees at another group property, as Fazenda Pedra Preta did not have the infrastructure. Antonio Fortes is building new installations, and as they were not ready in time, the coffees from this harvest were processed at another of his properties, using an asphalt-covered concrete patio, a greenhouse and a mechanical dryer.
