The Zacatlami farm is located in the municipality of Totutla, in the state of Veracruz, in the mountainous central. The size of the farm is 40 hectares, with a height above sea level between 1350 and 1400 meters, the terrain is totally irregular, but with very good weather and optimal conditions for growing coffee, the varieties that persist are: Caturra, Garnica and Mundo Novo, living with shade trees, mostly, Chalahuite (inga vera), Ixpepe (Trema micrantha), Encino (oak), in addition trees and shrubs in the area. During the year, we try to have the soil and the plants nourished with the help of compost and fertilizers that do not harm the soil. The harvesting of the grains is carried out very minuscule way, ensuring that the grain have optimal ripening. This particular batch was created by collecting 50% of Garnica, 40% from Caturra and 10% from Mundo Novo. The process was a semi-wash with fermentation controlled nature that guaranteed the development and cleaning the notes. It was later dried in African beds in a greenhouse. Hi, I'm Liova Sandoval Córdova and I come from a coffee family by tradition. My grandmother came from Italy and together with my mother and her brothers dedicated to coffee production since then. However, I married a rancher and for many years I put aside this part of me lifetime. A few years ago the opportunity to acquire the Zacatlami farm and it is with the help of my children, my son-in-law and my grandchildren that has come true my dream of resuming coffee cultivation. For years our family dedicated itself to commercial coffee production, it was 6 years ago that we got to know the world of specialty and price right for the quality of good coffee. Since then we seek to train and improve year after year the quality of our coffee. I am very happy to be in this contest for second consecutive time and to be able to raise the coffee from Veracruz and my family's work.
