Description

My name is Carlos Campos Rodríguez, and coffee is a lifelong passion that runs deep within my roots. My farm, Finca El Milagro, is located in the community of Tlamanca de Hernández, within the municipality of Tepetzintla, Puebla. This land is a precious gift from my parents, who taught me the art of coffee cultivation when I was just a boy. Year after year, I have dedicated my life to this legacy, finding true joy in caring for the plants throughout the seasons and participating in the annual harvest. Spanning one hectare at an altitude of 1,100 meters above sea level, Finca El Milagro represents decades of hard work, family heritage, and a deep commitment to preserving our traditional way of life.

Our estate focuses on a thoughtful blend of varieties well-suited to our regional microclimate, consisting of 60% Marsellesa and 40% Colombia. For the February and March harvest, we execute a meticulous washing process that relies entirely on precision and patience. The harvest begins with a strict selective hand-picking, ensuring that only the fully ripe, deep-red cherries are collected. Afterward, the fruit goes directly to the depulper and is thoroughly washed to achieve a pristine, clean profile. To complete the process, the coffee is sun-dried on patios (secado al sol en piso) until the beans reach their optimal moisture content. Every step is handled with the utmost care to preserve the inherent qualities of our crop.

What makes this lot truly special is the year-round devotion poured into every single tree. For me, producing an exceptional cup means maintaining a constant harmony with the land, nurturing the soil, and protecting the plants so they can express their finest attributes. Securing a place in the international Cup of Excellence platform is an immense honor that validates this quiet, daily effort. It bridges our family’s resilient heritage with the global specialty coffee market, proving that passion and constant care can transform a small, traditional plot into a source of world-class quality.
