Description
The story of “Rayos del Sol” coffee is a story of passion, sacrifices and dedication. My name is Percy Pintado Huamán and I am the proud owner of this little gem located in the Centro Poblado Alto Ihuamaca in the San Ignacio district.
“Rayos del Sol” is my dream come true. On one hectare of land at an impressive altitude of 1850 meters above sea level. cultivation of geisha variety known for its exquisite flavor, but demanding in care. Every day I face the challenges imposed by this altitude and variety with determination.
Harvesting in “Rayos del Sol” is a meticulous process that requires patience and dedication. After caring for and pampering the plants throughout the year, the crucial moment of harvest arrives. For 15 days we worked tirelessly to collect the geisha beans at their optimal point of maturity. Each grain is a treasure that represents hours of effort and sacrifice.
Drying is another critical stage. At this altitude, weather conditions can be challenging, but with determination and experience, we manage to dry our coffee beans with precision. Every day the “Rayos del Sol” bless us with warmth, reminding us why we chose the name “Rayos del Sol” for our farm.
It hasn't been an easy road, but every cup of geisha coffee we produce is a reward for all the sacrifice. Over the years, I have invested time and resources to improve the quality of our coffee. “Rayos del Sol” is more than a farm, it is a legacy that I am building for my children and future generations of our family.
The first few years were difficult fighting pests, inclement weather, and lack of experience in producing high-quality coffee, but my determination was unwavering. I sought advice, learned from my mistakes and worked tirelessly on every detail of the production.
It was during one of my trips that I discovered the geisha variety, known for its great exceptional flavor and its demand in the market. Its cultivation was challenging, but in it I saw the opportunity to raise the quality of my coffee. With a lot of sacrifice and effort, I replanted my entire farm with geisha, investing every available resource.
The first years of harvest were not abundant, but every geisha grain I got was like a ray of hope. It was then when I decided to name my farm “Rayos del Sol”, in honor of the light that I always glimpsed on the horizon, even in the darkest moments.
Over time “Rayos del Sol” became a renowned geisha cultivation site and my efforts began to bear fruit. Every cup of coffee produced here represented a personal victory over adversity.
Today “Rayos del Sol” is a testimony of love for coffee and my commitments to excellence. Every day we face challenges with courage and perseverance, remembering how it all began with a small plot of land and a dream. This farm is my legacy and contribution to the world of coffee, a tribute to the passion and effort that have been an integral part of my life since those humble beginnings.
