Description
There is no hope during the state lockdown amid the COVID-19 pandemic, but coffee farmers and communities still thrive to produce better quality coffee and enhance our livelihoods.
We started a serious work on coffee processing in the lowland by sending our produce to be processed in another province. We run a small portion test in Sriracha province to collect data to share with our farmers team. We also funded a scholarship in a university to give an opportunity to the younger generation of coffee drinkers and farmers to work together and advance coffee processing development.
Highland farming is the best choice for coffee cultivation, but still very challenging in terms of processing capacity and a livelihood condition of the farmers. Hence, a mid-way of lowland and highland coffee processing could build resilience within coffee farming communities, protecting them against the consequences of climate change and other environmental and social risks.
This year is our first official processing trail in Sriracha. Currently, we are still collecting data and resources in close coordination with the farmers to improve the results.
Thanks to COE for this opportunity for us to share our work and produce to international consumers. We will keep improving regardless of the results to boost the quality of our coffee and community in the future.
