Description
Coffee De Hmong Bio Farm. Our journey began in 2012 as a response to the environmental degradation caused by deforestation and excessive chemical use in Nan, Thailand, particularly from the widespread cultivation of kale, cabbage, and corn. Coffee emerged as a sustainable alternative—an agricultural solution that could support forest restoration. It was our grandmother’s vision to use coffee as a means of reforesting the area.
With this in mind, we requested the use of land previously dedicated to cabbage farming—our father's garden—to begin growing coffee. Since then, we have steadily transitioned the land, incorporating tree planting and the production of bio-fertilizer for sustainable, chemical-free cultivation. We consider ourselves fortunate to have started with 300 coffee trees of the Gesha variety, gifted by Mr.K , who had introduced the first generation of Gesha seedlings to the local community. These original trees are now 12 years old. Today, our coffee cultivation has expanded to 2,400 trees across 6 rai (approximately 2.4 acres).
